The PAP Coordinator is aligned in Primary Care Service Line and reports to the Primary Care Nurse Manager. Letters are sent and calls are made to veterans identifying if a PAP has been completed as well as when, and where they had their last Pap. Tracking is important to complete those that may have had services in the private sector. This will entail collaborating with the RCI team to ensure initial progress notes have been obtained. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. The approving official may authorize a waiver of the requirement for ACEN or CCNE accreditation of any degree in nursing provided the college or university has regional accreditation from an accrediting body recognized by the Department of Education at the time of the candidate's graduation and the composite qualifications of the applicant warrant such consideration. In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. Physical Requirements: This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. The incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations, operative/invasive procedures, or home settings. The PAP Coordinator is a registered nurse responsible for identifying, facilitating, and coordinating patient-centered care and services. The WHCC has a crucial role in assisting women veterans to efficiently obtain gender specific services and care, with emphasis on maternity care coordination, coordination of gynecologic services, and back up mammogram coordination and follow-up. Duties include, but are not limited to: The WHCC works closely with the pelvic floor physical therapist to obtain the skills and knowledge to be able to apply techniques learned in a clinical setting. Provides clinically appropriate treatment programs for client evaluation and treatment within the Women's Health Clinic to include testing and measurement of results to determine diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and prevention. The WHCC will provide clinically appropriate treatment programs for client evaluation and treatment in the Women's Health Clinic. The WHCC will work closely with the Women's Health Medical Director, the Women's Health Program Manager and the nurse manager in coordinating and tracking gender specific care (i.e., maternity care, mammography, gynecological coordination, etc.) of patients throughout all aspects of the medical center, including Care in the Community and other community agencies. The RN Women's Health Coordinator II demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others.
