In this position, you’ll provide diabetes nutrition education activities for inpatients, outpatients, and individuals and groups of patients with diabetes ranging in age from adolescence to adulthood. Duties include coordinating the diabetes education plan with other team members, and acting as a liaison to the primary nurse; serving as a resource to other health professionals in the specified area of expertise for purposes of staff development, patient care delivery, and continuous quality improvement.
Registered Dietitian with B.S. degree in nutrition
Must obtain Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) designation within two (2) years of hire
Two (2) years of experience in clinical dietetics
Demonstrated knowledge of adult education principles
Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and weekend call
Must complete a minimum of twenty?four (24) hours of continuing education in diabetes and education principles during initiation on job, and must complete fifteen (15) hours of diabetes education or continuing education each year.
