Work Hours/Shift:
Full Time - Days
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Provides exceptional, timely service to employees who require assistance.
- Manages workload to account for scheduled appointments, walk ins, annual employee campaigns.
- Meets with all new hires to perform intake visit – medical history review, testing, charting/documentation as required for their position
- In coordination with Benefits Specialist and AHS Worker’s Compensation, manages the initial testing and appointment setup for injured employees. Provides education to injured employee. Assists with light duty placements as needed. Maintains impeccable records and compliance with worker’s compensation laws and AHS policies.
- Partners with house supervisors to ensure consistency in employee health services on off hours or when Employee Health RN is out of the office
- Stays abreast of changes in best practices related to employee health and occupational medicine, by participation with AOHP, webinars, journals, etc.
- Manages inventory of masks, vaccinations, and all other supplies / medications needed to provide service to employees
- Keeps accurate and thorough records on all employees. Maintains information as required by HIPPA, AHS policies, and regulatory bodies’ standards
- Takes the lead on facility-wide campaign for influenza vaccinations. Provides education to employees, administers vaccine, and maintains records of participation each year
- Manages annual TB compliance for clinical staff.
- Manages annual fit testing for required employees. Administers fit tests, maintains documentation and provides reporting as needed
- Participates as a member at Environment of Care and Infection Control meetings regularly. Attends other meetings on ad hoc basis as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 3 – 5 years as hands on RN, preferably in hospital setting.
- Prior experience in employee health or occupational medicine strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of AOHP guidelines, standard of care.
- Knowledge of CDC guidelines, AHCA, JC standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word programs.
- Knowledge of occupational health software preferred, especially Systoc.
- Detailed orientation with good organizational, communication and record keeping skills.
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
QualificationsWhat You Will Need:

- Minimum of Associate’s degree in nursing
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- State of Florida RN licensure
- BLS certification

Job Summary:
The Employee Health RN provides services and education to employees and volunteers. The Employee Health RN works independently and autonomously. Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, deliver an excellent program and work with a variety of individuals throughout the organization is crucial.
Responsibilities in this role include new hire screening and clearance; employee education; training and supervising volunteers in the department; fit testing; workers compensation coordination; annual testing for employees, volunteers and physicians; tracking and reporting to meet regulatory standards; overseeing the influenza immunization program for the entire facility.
The Employee Health RN works closely with AHS Worker’s Compensation, FHZ Infection Control, FHZ Nursing Administration, FHZ Materials Management and other areas as needed to deliver exceptional service.
