The Advanced Care Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) is a member of the Diabetes and Endocrinology Teams within the Endocrinology Section providing subspecialty services to patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, including patient on multiple daily injections of insulin, U500 concentrated insulin, insulin pumps and CGMS devices. The Diabetes ARNP works independently and is qualified to assume primary responsibility and accountability for the care of patients. The ARNP shall obtain instruction, supervision and consultation as necessary before implementing new or unfamiliar practices. ARNPs have advanced education and clinical training, provide comprehensive primary and/or specialty health care services for patients.
