This position works for the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System (Reno), within the Nutrition and Food Service. The incumbent performs duties that requires proficiency in special procedures. Requires a broad knowledge of service operations, such as food preparation, dishwashing, dry and refrigerated storage, and food and beverage. Decides what food items to serve for the most common diets when the tray tickets identifies only the kind of diet ordered. Duties include, but are not limited to: Make the final check of diet trays assembled by lower grade workers for completeness, correct food temperature, and to verify that food items on the tray are appropriate for the prescribed diet.
