Ellis Medicine Endocrinology is seeking an experienced Diabetes Educator to join their team! Certification is required. This is a Full Time opportunity, offering a competitive benefit package!
The Diabetes Educator is responsible for providing education programs/services to all participants of the Capital Region Diabetes and Endocrine Center.
The Diabetes Educator is utilized as a resource consultant to staff members, physicians and other health professionals as they provide diabetes education within the agency and in the community.
Leadership is evidenced through collaborative program design, implementation, and evaluation; participation in departmental and interdepartmental committees, through clinical consultative services; and commitment to enhancing personal professional growth.
Hospital philosophy/goals and American Diabetes Association Standards of Care guide these actions.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Registered nurse with current license to practice in New York State. At least two years experience in diabetes education. A B.S. in Nursing preferred. Certified Diabetes Educator required or a specific plan to achieve certification is evident. OR
Dietitian with a BS or MS in Nutrition. Must be registered by the American Dietetic Association and NYS Certified. At least 2 years experience in diabetes education and Certified Diabetes Educator required
