In this key role, the Resource Advisor is responsible for following the bariatric patients from their initial visit until the day of their surgery, working collaboratively with surgeon s other office staff for the scheduling of the patient s surgery, obtaining and submitting to MMF all of the necessary paperwork for scheduling of surgery. This individual will gather and culminate all required physician/dietary documentation and test results for submission to the insurance company for surgical authorization. The Resource Advisor is responsible for understanding and providing insurance information to the patient when necessary, entering patient information into the web portal patient tracking data base and/or any other required bariatric patient data bases. The role handles reviewing and communicating this information to the surgeons on a monthly basis or more often if necessary along with reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.
High School graduate, college degree or three years appropriate work experience that would indicate a high level of communication skills and organizational ability.
Should be familiar with specific insurance requirements for bariatric surgery.
Basic computer skills and understanding of medical terminology specific to bariatric surgery
