Position Description: This position will primarily be responsible for delivering trays to patients directly after the tray is assembled in the kitchen, and coordinating this process with the patient’s Nurse or PCA. Must be able to perform work in timely fashion to meet designated delivery times. The Room Service Host may also distribute menus to new patients and explain the Room Service process. The Host will help identify patients who need to be visited at the bedside for meal selections. The Host will deliver meals and snacks to the patients. The Host will assist the Tray Assembler in making trays in the kitchen as needed. Will also ensure adequate stocking of floor stock nourishments and menus in patient care units.
Individual for this position must demonstrate friendly, accurate and excellent customer service skills on the phone and in person. Needs to have good basic computer skills, and clear written and verbal communication skills. Must be strong team player with the goal of providing outstanding food service to enhance the patient experience, willing to follow established Standard Work Procedures. Will maintain professional appearance reporting to work in full clean and tidy uniform and meet other equirements of department dress code.
Recent experience in food service hospitality and/or hospital setting preferred.
Experience as a server/host highly preferred.
Excellent organization and prioritization skills necessary.
