This is a PRN position. Responsible for planning and supervising the activities of subordinate clinical dietitians engaged in providing professional advice on diet therapies, instructing patients and/or families on nutrition, and evaluating patients' responses to diets. Establishes standards and policies on appropriate methods for diet calculations, nutritional assessments, and patient relations.
* Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration as a Registered Dietician * Current license by the Texas State Board of Examiners * Must be willing to pursue certification as Certified Diabetes Educator.
If candidate is a new graduate:
Candidate must be registry eligible
Must obtain temporary license within 90 days of employment
Must obtain permanent license within six months of employment
Failure to obtain license within this time frame will result in termination of employment
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or Food/Institutional Management * Master of Science in Nutrition preferred
* Prefer minimum 1 year experience as clinical dietitian with a broad experience in diabetes education, wellness, and individual/group nutrition counseling.
